Swing (Die Gedanken sind frei solange man sie nicht erraten kann), 2020
The work mobilizes the visitor's body to enact a paradox: motion without displacement. It carves out a corridor of movement that registers as a momentary, physical liberty within a rigid structure. By making the private struggle of "unguessable thought" visible in the exposed, active body, the object re-contextualizes Luhmann’s assertion of freedom.
Thoughts are free as long as one can’t guess them. (Niklas Luhmann)
Swing (protocolled strolling in the open sea), 2024
A continuation of linguistic citation merged with object form. The title re-frames the swing as a protocol - an attempt to impose administrative order onto the uncontrollable "open sea." Unlike the active motion of the earlier work, this variation suspends the physical desire to let go. It acts as a paralyzed apparatus, measuring the tension between a boundless concept and its rigid structural container.
